Firewall Manual And Screen Captures - Open Proxies Tab
|
The
Proxy Firewall Open Proxies Tab
Proxy Firewall will allow you to import and use open proxy
servers.
All you need to do is have a source for them. Proxy Firewall
includes options for checking open servers, as well as providing
extra information about them. Please be sure to read our
warnings about open proxies. If you do decide to use them,
http://list-proxies.com/
is a good place to start finding lists.
Please do not judge OUR proxies or Proxy Firewall by your
experience with open proxy servers.
Open proxies are SLOW and do not last but hours sometimes.
OUR
private proxy service offers proxy servers that are stable,
fast and always here for you.

HTTPS
& SOCKS
When you click the radio button next to HTTP or SOCKS it will
load the IP list and ports for each protocol. Proxy Firewall
will allow you to select either for any program, but HTTP
proxies should be used for programs such as browsers and web
programs like Internet Explorer, Netscape and FireFox. SOCKS
proxies should be used for TCP programs such as messengers,
telnet, ftp, irc, etc.. This is because http proxies are optimized
with a cache for browsing. They also timeout faster then socks
connections. If you use http proxies for a messenger type
program, it may timeout and close more often then you would
wish it to.
If you are going to use 'open' http proxies for TCP programs
be sure to check your http proxies using port 80. If you use
port 443 you are only checking to see if the proxy works with
ssl. When you check using port 80 you are also checking to
be sure that it works on non standard ports. Note
that all of the proxies in our private lists are ssl all port
enabled. This means that all of the proxies in
our private broadband http lists, work with any program
when using HTTP or SOCKS5.
Extra Info
After you have checked your proxies and you mouse over an
ip address, you will get extra info on the proxy. This extra
info includes the Postal code, Latitude + Longitude and ISP
name for
the
proxy IP address..
Anon Level
The Anon option will display a number from 0-15 You can click
on a number for a legend.
This is used so that you can tell if the proxy is anonymous,
extra stealth or if offers no anonymity at all. Level 0 is
NOT anonymous at all, Level 9 offers total anonymity and Level
15 is extra stealth because it removes the remote address,
X_forwarded for, as well as the REFERER and User Agent.
There is an anonymity legend shown below: Level 9 (or above)
= Anonymous
Right Click Menu
When you right click in any of the list tabs Private Proxies,
Open or Manual Proxies, you will get a menu as shown above
with additional options.
Export List
This option will allow you to export the list to a plain text
file.
Save List
This option will save the list to your Proxy Firewall program
directory instead of waiting for a reboot or shutdown. When
you use this option your list would not be lost if your computer
was to crash.
Delete Selected
You can multi select items in your list using your ctrl key
and then choose to delete one or more items in your list.
Shuffle
List
You can choose to shuffle the list in a random order for when
you are rotating lists.
Edit Selected
This option will allow to to manually edit any proxy in your
open list.
Delete Selected
This
option will allow to to delete any proxy in your open list.
Delete All
This option will allow you to clear your list and delete all
of the proxies in your list.
Add Proxies
When you click on the Add Proxies button you can add proxies
by using the import option, or typing in the information one
at a time as shown below.
When you add a group of proxies that all share the same settings,
you can leave this window open as you type in your ip address
and ports. For example, select the socks5 option. Now type
in and add all of your socks5 servers. When you are finished,
click the Ok button to add them all to your list. After adding
all of your socks5 proxy servers, you can now start adding
all of your socks4 proxy servers.
Import Proxy Servers
Importing is easy. All you need is a plain text file with
HTTP(s), socks5 or socks4 proxy servers in the format of IP:PORT
as shown below.
The file name can be something like (socks4.txt)
61.17.178.188:1080
203.115.84.165:1080
201.252.25.13:1080
Click on the SOCK4 radio button and then on Import. Select
your file and the servers will be added to your list. Now
click on OK
Checking HTTP Proxies

Manual Proxy Check
When the box is checked, only Manual checks will be done
Auto Proxy Check
When the check box above is not checked, you can set a time
interval to auto check your open proxies.
Connect TimeOut
This is the time interval during checking that you want to
wait for your computer to make a connection to the proxy server.
The default setting is 30 seconds, but to check for fast proxies
you can lower the number.
Verify TimeOut
This
is the time interval during checking that you want to wait
for the proxy to complete a connection.
The default setting is 45 seconds, but to check for fast proxies
you can lower the number.
Check SSL on Port
The options are port 443 (ssl port) or port 80 (http port)
Proxies that check ok using port 80 will likely work with
TCP programs on non-standard ports.
You will confirm more proxies using port 443, but these may
not all work when you try and use TCP programs such as messengers,
telnet, ftp, etc.. Note that all of the proxies in our private
lists are ssl all port enabled. This means that all of the
proxies in
our private broadband http lists, work with any program
when using HTTP or SOCKS5.
Run Proxy Check
After you have imported your proxies, click on the Run Proxy
Check button.

The proxy checking system is advanced and has many options.
It will allow you to automatically check proxies during a
running project. You can also select your own timeouts for
proxy checking for both connect and verify. There is a bad
storage area that has options for rechecking later and options
to automatically clear your bad storage every xx number of
days. A capture of the bad proxy window is shown below.
